Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts
The Head and The Heart Celebrate 15 Years of Indie Folk with 15th Anniversary Tour with a show at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts on Sunday, July 26th, 2016. The band will play their platinum-selling self-titled debut in its entirety, plus a selection of other songs from their repertoire including their double-platinum hit “Rivers and Roads” and fan favorite “Honeybee”.
Although the band has recently put out a new album, “Aperture” (May 2025), they are touring around playing songs from previous releases. The band features some great tuneful vocals and some genuinely great songwriting. Opening for the band will be alternative rock band Wilderado from Tulsa, OK. They recently found fame when the blockbuster film Twisters was released.

It’s time to celebrate a milestone anniversary for one of the finest Indie Folk bands of our time as The Head and The Heart come to Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts on Sunday, July 26, 2026 to perform as part of their 15th Anniversary Tour. The Seattle-based Indie Folk group will be supported by the great indie folk outfit, Wilderado from Tulsa, OK who have been on tour across the US and Canada in support of their 2024 album, Talker, released in September 2024.
The Seattle, WA band’s most popular song “Rivers and Roads” has been a fan favorite along with “Honeybee” and more. In 2025 the band released a new album titled “Aperture” with all of the songs from this brand new album to be played LIVE at this show. The group achieved RIAA Platinum certification for their 2010 self-titled debut along with many other Billboard Chart Notable achievements. They played open mic nights in Seattle where they got their start and rose to fame in the early 2010s folk rock scene. This show will celebrate the band’s debut album that was recently remastered & re-released as a special deluxe edition.
Wildero will kick off The Head and The Heart’s 15th Anniversary Tour. The Seattle based indie folk trio Wilderado have been gaining a large following due to their unique sound of what they like to call “cinematic indie folk.” The three-piece band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Max Rainer, guitarist and vocalist Tyler Wimpee and drummer Justin Kila. Wilderado’s music has been featured in several films and TV shows, including the blockbuster film Twisters. Their self-titled debut was released in 2021 via Bright Antenna Records and has received critical acclaim within the alternative scene. Fans can expect to hear some of the well-known songs such as “Surefire” as well as other cuts from their 2024 album “Talker” which was released in September.
The concert will take place at The Filene Center, located at 1551 Trap Road in the park’s venue space in Vienna, VA, just minutes from Washington, DC. Wolf Trap is America’s only national park for the performing arts and is preserved parkland covering 117 acres. In addition to the lawn, where attendees can sit and enjoy the performance as general admission, The Filene Center has reserved covered seats that hold up to 7,000 attendees. Parking for this show is FREE and is available in the parking lots throughout the Park. There are a limited number of spaces so we encourage carpooling and or sharing a ride to the show. Wolf Trap is also disabled parking accessible. The Wolf Trap Shuttle will depart from the McLean Metro ORANGE Line every 20 minutes for this show. Parking in the City of Vienna and then taking the shuttle to the show is also an option.
